You presumably know at least a few housed people in your life with drinking problems. Why don't they just quit drinking? Why do you think it would be easier to quit drinking while also not having housing?

All of these things interact and affect one another. Say you're living in some common marginal situation working a low-wage job with high rent. Some event happens where suddenly you require a few hundred dollars, nothing serious for mo

Countries with socialized housing, healthcare, and education do not experience the cost increases of those things seen in the US. So you have it backward. The US runs these things like a half-assed free market so public wealth is efficientl

None of your analogies are applicable. Nuclear power stations require extraordinary stability in a world that cannot provide it. Earthquakes, tsunamis, war, or another failure mode nobody’s even thought of yet can lead to entire states beco

There is only 3 degrees of freedom, not 6. So yes it's a sphere and you sit in the center. You only get depth perception from your eye parallax, but it's enough to see the rock geometry.

I don't know, there are a few companies I've seen around lately that have an open source "core" with proprietary business add-ons. Teleport and Tailscale for example. The Tailscale CEO wrote a post about it recently that
