I'm wondering if there's any benefit to the average tech-savvy person to using Tailscale/ZeroTier as a VPN (with a VPS, say) vs. just using a consumer-facing VPN like Mullvad or whatever.

I tried their test site just now [0]. After clicking "I am human", my MacBook prompted me to confirm with my Apple Watch. I double-pressed the side button, but then got this error [1]. [0] https://cloudflarechallenge.co

That's a perfectly fair attitude. I was just trying to show that it's not very expensive to scale WordPress. :)

I think the percentage that the GP is referencing is from W3Techs [0]. It's currently 39.7% in fact, and that's only looking at the top 10 million websites [1], so it's not just a simple installation count across all sites ev

Can I ask how exactly you went about doing that? I would like to try iCloud for photos, but how did you manage to combine the image files Takeout gives to you with the metadata in the JSON files?

Something on Carrd.co? https://carrd.co/ Probably not the best for a blog, but would work for a static site.

My favorite small game is probably Golf On Mars[0], the sequel to Desert Golfing. The game could almost not be simpler: you hit a golf ball into a hole, then the view shifts to show you the next hole. Repeat. Forever. There's no interf

If I were in your shoes, I'd move to Kinsta[0], Pressable[1], or some other reputable managed WordPress host. Most hosting providers should have pricing between $50 and $100/month for a site with that amount of traffic. If you wan

We use a private Facebook group, since most of our older relatives are on FB already. There are some privacy concerns, but frankly, the ease-of-use for us and our relatives just outweighs that. For relatives who don't have Internet acc
