This was an issue we had in one of the previous versions of the kit. Since then we have improved the hardware (now at version 4.2) as well as fixed it in the firmware. If you still have issues, please contact me through the link on my profi

Yes, this is what I am doing in my house. Pump the cleaned fresh air into the peripheral rooms (mostly bedrooms) and then this actually pressures the whole house (living room, bathrooms etc).

No, we only tested with true HEPA filters. One important thing to point out with PPS systems is that you need to get the air from fully polluted to zero polluted in ONE pass as unlike air purifiers, there is no recirculation. So the filter

As far as I know the Aranet uses NDIR CO2 sensor modules from SenseAir. We do use the same brand in our DIY kits and they are very accurate and probably one of the best low-cost CO2 sensors.

The R2 is between the tested monitor and the AQMD reference instruments (BAMs and Grimms). They also test if the two reference instruments agree with each other before calculating the correlation to the tested monitor. So I believe their te

We currently don't have PoE but since it's open hardware and firmware people can look into adding it themselves. All documentation is open source.

Author here. I wrote this article a few weeks ago after discovering that a well known air quality monitor in the market that retails for more than USD 1000 actually uses a PM module that costs less than USD 20. Often people assume that the

The system that I am having in place now is connected to our indoor air quality monitor and constantly regulates the fan speed of the PPS. By measuring the CO2 levels in the room, I can also detect when the room is actually occupied. This w

I have seen PPS systems work from small rooms to whole sports halls. If you have a large temperature/humidity differential between inside and outside, I would recommend looking for units with heat recovery system.

1) The first DIY PPS that I built used a small duct fan drawing air from outside and pushing it through a hepa filter to the inside. It is important to use duct fans as you need to create air pressure more than air flow and box fans are not

The DIY box fans are a good emergency solution but with climate change these events will become much more frequent and more permanent solutions to make your house safer should be looked at.

I agree, if you have a modern house you could bring down the levels with air purifiers but having no fresh air exchange really makes the house feeling very stuffy and you could get into very high CO2 levels which have its own set of health

We maintain an open source, open hardware air quality monitor project that is quite popular. We also sell these monitors as easy to assemble kits. One of the monitors is an outdoor monitor similar to the Purple Air that uses dual PM sensors
