There exist several microkernels that don't suffer much from overhead, it's not hypothetical but decades old technology, from oldest to newest: QNX, the L4 family, Fuchsia, RedoxOS.

Yeah, this is really messed up. I think our instincts ("tribal leader is powerful and has extra rights") are doing us a disservice. In democracies, all politicians are our employees: They are supposed to do our bidding, and if the

I'm not sure if that is what she meant. In any case, it does sound very useful for code. The input becomes messy to represent as text, but prompts don't usually make it into version control, so not much is lost.

Zen1 had 8 cores to Intel's 4 while only being 15% or so slower per core, at good energy efficiency. For embarrassingly parallel workloads, it was a major improvement right away.

The AI demand is a lucky external event, but you only get exposed to these if you stick around. Lesson for Google not to kill products so quickly, maybe?

SSAO is cheap, doesn't work that well and looks terrible if overdone, as many games did 10-15 years ago. The simple workaround is to dial down the SSAO so that it's maybe weaker than ambient occlusion in reality, but also not noti
