Typically the worst blob are the GPU drivers, and it seems to work with the normal open source i915 driver, which is pretty much as good as it gets.

I'm using an ifc6410 board as a home server, and as long as you stay with 2.5" disks all you need is 5V. The ifc and as it seems the Minnowboard as well provide 5V, so all you have to do is build your own adapter to SATA power. I

I wouldn't call the minnowboard a microcontroller, it's more similar to other single board computers like the Pandaboard and the odroid boards. And 2GB are already common for such boards, so 4GB are really not far off.

Signed up in the hope to find some time to have a go at this. But it would be great to have some idea what the task will be beyond "creating a race car bot".

This is already part of many modern cars, with the added feature that the car will also automatically break before you hit a cyclist. See for example http://www.euroncap.com/rewards/volkswagen_city_emergency_br...

I agree with a lot of that, especially the key repeat speed. You can get it even faster than what the UI offers by manually setting it with defaults. I would add to this list: - BetterTouchTool ( http://www.boastr.de/ ) with

I have wanted to try out collectd ( https://collectd.org/ ) for some time now, does anyone have experience with it?

That doesn't match my experience at all. Find the maintainer of the relevant subsystem, talk to them via mail or IRC about what's bugging you and how to improve it, implement it, send a patch and it will most likely be accepted. W

I bought mine directly from inforce ( http://www.inforcelive.com/index.php?route=product/product&f... ). There are a few similar boards like the odroid-xu, but the IFC6410 is currently the only one with both SATA and

After being not very satisfied with OpenWRT on a router as a fileserver (it's great overall, but file transfers are just too slow), I'm now using an IFC6410 as my home server. It doesn't use much more power than the linked NA

I'm 25 now and the oldest things I can still find are little games I built in DarkBasic. The best that is still online is probably this game where you had to kick footballs into a goal with a rc car I made when I was 14: http:/&#

Only the $1M strech goal would even support shaders, the basic 3D option is just a fixed pipeline. And way down at the bottom it says: >Software drivers are a challenge, and we will work on providing some level of drivers, with the hopes

I already host most things like email myself and I don't plan to change that in the future. I might have to think about how to deal with my google account though.

I don't think the number of cores is really useful for determining the number of web workers to run in parallel. If you want to push for something, push for a mechanism that frees you from having to set the number of workers to spawn.

Well, it said 9 cores on my laptop with 2 (plus hyperthreading, so 4). But why even try to estimate the number of cores? Just call it a benchmark that tries to find the number of threads you should run.
