I live in an old house without a dishwater. The 5-10 minutes spent doing the dishes are moments of deep thoughts, not dissimilar of the ones under the shower; maybe it’s the water…

A RPi 4 sits near a Teensy 4.1 in a difficult to reach LED installation: its only purpose is to wirelessly re-flash the Teensy firmware in case of updates and for eventual future features. The Teensy is driving ~15k RGBW LEDs.

The UI to post a story is so inconsistent/illogic that it’s difficult to understand if it comes from incompetence or from some hidden scheme.

Thank you! I hired a photographer specialized in jewelry to take a few studio shots of the object, and he made the electronics look precious!

I use the ESP32 in many of my art-projects and it works perfectly: enough memory, compact, cheap and the “fuses” that I use to engrave the edition number and signature. Programming through Arduino works well. LCD driver for ASCII art (there

While I agree with the sentiment (and motivation) the layout (and hence the readability) suffers: the hierarchies are off (for example the gigantic "Colophon" at the end), section titles too big and there is visual noise due to &q

Also a fan here, although I never had the chance to see them live. I bought a tapes (even if I don’t own a tape player) just because of the gorgeous design…! https://masterbootrecord.bandcamp.com

To mitigate your disappointment you could visit the “Keygen Church” by Master Boot Record (a mix of metal, chiptune and ASCII + pixel art): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ynVpatxQERs

Yugop (the website) was such an inspiration: it questioned the way we interact with our devices in a playful way. I can say that it influenced my work and career…!

On the country side you can buy fresh fruits from small unattended shops on the side of the roads: you take a fruit basket and leave the money in a jar. (I only saw this in the Swiss German part, though).

Made me think about the Swiss Railways clock that has the second hand completing the circle in 58.5 seconds; all the clocks on the network then wait for the sync signal from the “master clock". https://en.wikipedia.org/

I just sent back to the store a 42" Samsung LCD TV for two reasons: 1) It didn’t go into sleep and I always had to fiddle with the remote to bring back the desktop image after a wake up (select source, etc). 2) The color (LED lighting?

Recently we built a LED sign for a bar named “Cinque a Zero” like a Campari based cocktail. We used a single Teensy 4.1 + a simple custom board that we designed to drive around 10K RGBW LEDs. Twitter thread with some background: https:
