+1, I use the syncing but originally YNAB didn't have that feature and you entered things by hand. Either works.

Yes, YNAB, it rocks: https://www.youneedabudget.com/ They have an opinionated, cult following that seems a bit weird at first, but if you approach the situation with humility and the real need to budget you'll realize

Nice, I like this a lot. I'm curious: How did you get the event data? It's really accurate a clean for San Francisco (Dreamforce, Fleet Week, etc.)

I agree. The number of engineers who don't understand simple indexing in RDBMSes is tragic. Too many engineers see a slow query and immediately say "this database can't scale, let's switch databases!"

This seems like an interesting idealogical argument to follow, but anybody using Emacs in the real world is going to just go ahead and install Magit. Nobody uses Emacs on the default settings anyways. Part of learning Emacs is sorting out y

Been playing guitar for 20 years, and this is spot on! The John Mayer comment is ridiculous, he's a great guitarist. Even many of John Mayer's biggest pop radio hits have great chord voicings and writing built-in (No Such Thing, W

An Ableton thread made it to the front page of HN?! YES. Awesome work. +100 on the expanded dedicated mixer view. I like Live because it's so music and the Push 2 is epic, not because I make electronic music. I noticed metering was on

Interesting side note, Ableton actually has a really interesting low-level API for music makers called Max for Live that lets anybody create interesting instruments or effects and share them with others. I'm not a pro at it, but it see

I'm the other engineer at First Round and it's really fun. The people are very smart, there's a lot to build, and working in VC teaches you a lot about how startups work.

Been using it for a while. Great for hacks, downloading 360 VR videos, downloading all videos for a channel. Was happy to see it here, it's nothing new, just a great tool, great job of surfacing it HN!

Yeah, fair. Regarding "I wish it was a real price though" that's why we want to run this analysis for insurance companies. They're the ones that have the best real data, and can benefit from it the most.
