The Zune software is so good, I know many people who use it even though they don't have a Zune, myself included.

It's hard to estimate the power of distraction for students. Having interactive textbooks would be really awesome, but what does it matter if kids are just playing Angry Birds instead? Also the cost benefits aren't really all that great.

My guess is the value of you seeing the ads is probably worth more to them than whatever you're willing to pay to stop seeing them.

I'm very interested in the point made regarding interactive children's education. High schools across the country seem to think that giving students iPads to use as text books is a good idea. I think that if I was in high school and I had

I know this isn't directly answering your question, but unless you actually need to learn Django, I'd recommend sticking with Rails. I've done several projects with Django, and while I enjoy writing Python more than Ruby, Rails is by far

Rivalries between programming languages are silly. Certain languages are better for certain things, and these debates come from people trying to shoehorn one language to do everything. I haven't seen much Python vs LISP, usually it's Pytho

If that's the case, that makes sense on google+. On GMail though, I personally am used to clicking on the logo to refresh my inbox. Now I have to click on the navigation tab "inbox" to do that. It isn't a big deal really, but I find it odd

The article mentions it already, but if this style of programming piques your interest and you don't know about underscore.js, it's absolutely worth your time to check it out: http://documentcloud.github.com/underscore/

People were lobbying for IE to change in order to make it consistent with the rest of the browsers, not necessarily because it was worse.

I understand what you're saying, but I'm under the impression that once these new keywords are introduced, everyone will encouraged to use 'let' exclusively and 'var' will be suggested as an advanced feature for special cases.

The extra keywords aren't going to reduce the "errors and weird behavior", the fact that they will be block-scoped and not function-scoped is what will eliminate the confusion.

Maybe I'm an outlier, but I really don't mind paying with paypal. It's rather convenient. I don't think that the offered payment methods have ever impacted whether or not I actually buy from a particular merchant.

It's pretty incredible that this website fell on it's face so hard that users couldn't even sign in. What I don't understand is why they're now requiring everyone to reset their passwords too. What exactly are they doing over there? This

The article title is very misleading. He spent at least 8 months developing a product, and he "got lucky" and was featured near the top in the app store in multiple countries in order to make the $30,000.

Vim isn't only about movement, it gives you some very efficient ways to actually manipulate text. Take this example line of code: #define test "Some magical string." Say the cursor was at the beginning of the line and you wanted to

The laziness level that can be achieved with vim's modal editing still surpasses that of most editors. When you're used to vim and you have to use something else, you even become disappointed when you have to reach for the arrow keys . hj
