You only need custom builds if you want to use your custom push notification server. Since push notifications are handled by GCM (Android) / APNS (IOS), for some customers, they fail compliance regulations. If you just want to self-hos

Sprint planning takes 30 minutes for our team too. And exactly like OP, backlog grooming is done during 1-1s with leads. I am sorry if you find it that much hard to believe.

Mattermost has their cloud offering now! It's basically Mattermost in Cloud with everything else remaining same. You don't get raw access to the database, but you can get an effective dump of your data any time.

It seems to me like your opinion about Go GC is that it is an extremely buggy and slow piece of software. Every software has bugs. Whether those bugs are a major blocker for people to use them or not should be taken into account. The issue

Nice job. A better way might have been to run the Go1 benchmarks instead. That contains a pre-selected set of benchmarks that tests a variety of workloads.

F1 was kinda like that once. But then accidents started to happen, things got extremely dangerous. So more and more rules had to be put. The challenge is to keep that perfect balance between enjoyable races and keeping the drivers safe.

If you want to get push notifications from an in-house server, you need to have your own FCM project to host the push notifications. In that case, you need to compile the app yourself.

Author here: To add to what couchand said, there are already comparisons of io_uring with SPDK and they are pretty close. So I would expect near about the same result for DPDK too. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vjudg0lCEhQ

Yeah it is slightly misleading. The escape analysis rewrite was done in 1.13. But work is now going on to remove the old escape analysis code.

All of these have already been discussed in the GH issue. It is all being taken into consideration. Check out https://swtch.com/try.html for a thematic grouping of the issue.

Sure, but sometimes things are not that easy. Have you tried using mozjpeg ? You need to download, compile and install mozjpeg. Atleast for my platform. And sometimes you need the exact set of configure flags or build flags. Still you won&#

The large binary size is mainly due to the Go runtime being packed into the binary itself. You can compile with "-ldflags -s" to make it slightly smaller. But it will almost never be comparable to Rust/Emscripten binary sizes

For the large tables, what about using timestamp based table partitioning to split data into smaller units ? And then materialize each of them one by one ? So you get to keep materialized data and a single logical table.

The default value of that environment variable is auto. If you don't set anything, and you are inside GOPATH, module mode is disabled. If you are outside GOPATH, module mode is enabled. I think that is the most sane behavior. And this

The tools team is still working on go/packages. It is bound to get better. Given that modules support is still officially experimental, there are bound to be rough edges. But by 1.12, I think we will have a solid modules story.

Hi, godoc maintainer here. We have a lot of UI improvements coming for 1.12. - A TOC at the top - A sidebar for easy scrolling - More cross-links for easy navigation. If hotlinking comes through, that's a major improvement in itself. S
