Oh god yeah, the system in rust really got me infuriated a few times lol. But it was at the same time very satisfying to fix things and figure it out. I think it's a neat language, but I am going to wait to use it seriously. I do want

My concern with using go is definitely the GC. I mostly build games in Javascript, which has a nasty GC. But to invest in a new language, I feel like the gains need to be better than that. Java definitely has better perf than JS no doubt, a

Been kinda building a trello-like app myself. But it's far more simplistic in features, and i'm trying to build it so it's way more mobile friendly. I have the front end as open source, and the web back end as closed. Not sur

Right, but then people doing so would only be able to be arrested after someone gets hurt. It's not really preventable crime. I just see this as being open to negligence and misuse.

Well if nothing is changing with the language, or no new frameworks, then that does mean stagnation. Is it a bad thing? Of course not. Such stable languages and tools are great to have. Likewise I do think the sleuth of frameworks means pro

I agree, I wish the author brought reasoning to those points. I do think that it is a little odd of us to push more & more processing to the user's device, rather than doing it ourselves and purely delivering content. However, it d

I think that's an okay compromise, especially if you typically have a CI process anyways.

I nearly got caught by this just 5 or 6 days ago with handling dates. Chrome would parse: > 2014-12-15 08:00 PM For example, but firefox needed the RFC3339 format.

Wanna play minecraft now. I have a save that is one i continually work on. Nothing super impressive, still dont have the enchanting table surrounded by book shelves. But it's been a fun project slowly growing.

My understanding is also if you make your site accessible to screen readers, and validate it with accessibility testing, then you will have good search indexing as well. I agree the static pages would be faster, but I feel like there is dyn

Is it just me or is having the text "Due to the fact that JavaScript’s browser monopoly is hopefully coming to an end very soon," link to Dart kind of contradictory? Since Dart just compiles to JS anyways.

Working on an app recently for Android & iOS. Cordova helped us leverage a lot of existing skills in our team, and definitely made a lot of things easier. Changes not having to be implemented twice per platform for example. But one woul

Yeah i just see Go as an alternative for web technologies, where Rust is much more system level focused. I could be wrong, but that seems to be the direction I see with Rust.

I think you're right, and I like web applications and think they are a good avenue. However, looking at mobile apps and how updates work there, it is a nice middle ground. No doubt it's more essential as we're talking about p

While i agree on your edit about comcast, you chose a really poor company to relate it to, given all the FCC stuff as of late.

When he transformed into man-spider in the fox tv show, i think he actually did shoot webs from his arms. Don't recall if there was a more human version of him that did shoot webs as a super power over technology.

Not 100% on this, but I don't think phone gap has a hardware accelerated canvas, and I'm pretty certain it doesn't support WebGL. The WebGL part doesn't really apply to this article, but it's important to note. Lude
