It's the massive destruction of existing biomes and ecosystems to make way for monoculture soy, wheat and other grain farms that go into cattle feed that is the issue. Free range cattle in non-savana bushland like we have here in Austr

Most all modern agricultural produce are modified way beyond "natural". There is very little 'natural' about a plowed and fertilized field. And the produce being grown there has been selected and modified and optimised w

Scientist are not turning to rust. Scientist, if they are turning, are turning to the scientific standard compute language and its plethora of platforms and libraries: Python. Rust is fine, but it will never catch up or replace Python. Pyth

I'm here to complain about the utterly annoying 'redeem your shit' hovering diff that obscures the main page. If you are in anyway responsible for doing this to other people, please, take a bit of time and go fuck yourself.

Joke's on you if you trust Google with anything important. Google's penchant to abandon projects is well recorded here and elsewhere. Google sells ads, they are a advertising company. Everything else is just some kids' side p

You will get over it. A certain degree of social dependence and external validation is fine. But if the lack of it makes you unhappy I'll take it as a hint that you have deep caverns in you mind, filled with extraordinary treasure, tha

Indians are not stupid. They understand market dynamics as well as anyone. At best you will get a 5% markdown, and instant flight once a 4% markdown opportunity comes up. This is not enough to cover for the many downsides to outsourcing.

The last week or so YouTube has consistently pushed Fox news feeds into my suggested view list. The only 'political' content I occasionally watch is stuff by Mark Blyth... Now I get that Google is just pimping the general outrage

I very much doubt a GUI interface is going to be faster than a text interface, in fact it will be the opposite. And then I'm wired to this one interface and have to poke around on lines with a mouse like its 1992. No thanks. Also I can

That's hardly the standard. In 2020 you will write your code in Python using numpy and or numba and your done. I process 4 concurrent HD video streams in Python in real time on a 4 core embedded device.

90% of all stock trading the last 19 years was company buybacks. The fed has one job: liquidity. Mark Blyth's various commentries the last few weeks are very enlightening.
