Approximately, following the advice from the article: _ A frog beeth a small beast with four legs, which liveth both in water and on land. It could be brown or green or yellow, or be it tropical, it may have diverse colors. It hath lungs an

I loved my Zune HD, it had one of the best interfaces for dealing with podcasts that was available at the time. Tons of capacity, great on device playlist and queue management too. I love having access to tons of music via Spotify, but I al

I love his style parodies best of all, and I totally agree with you. I always bring those songs up if I'm arguing with someone about his musicianship. "Close But No Cigar" is probably my favorite Cake song.

I consider sugar to be by far my worst addiction, I can moderate on alcohol and pot with no issue, but with sugar I really need an all or nothing approach.

Anecdotally, I've noticed that if I avoid all sweets (and especially soda) I tend to have less of a sweet tooth. If I give myself leeway, and start taking donuts and candy that show up at work, I feel like my resistance to sweets drops

I switched from Keepass to 1Password recently and couldn't be happier with the decision. I think I could have dealt with Keepass forever if it was just me - but my non technical partner needs access to the family passwords and accounts

It's not so much typing that Vim helps with, it's _editing_. It's definitely not about raw text entry - it's about thinking things like "hey I want to move these 3 lines up to this spot" and being able to do th

Peter Kenny is the narrator for most of Iain Banks' Culture series. Hearing a different narrator for Matter just felt off, I've come to associate Peter's accent with the setting.

When I was a kid, probably from ages 13-18 or so, I always fell asleep to a Harry Potter audiobook. I owned a copy of Half Blood Prince on CD (more accurately on 20 CDs) and I wouldn't bother changing out the disc (at least not that of

Man, Doom 2016 is an astonishingly good video game. It's rare to find games that so thoroughly accomplish exactly what they set out to do. I finally got around to playing through it about a month ago and I'm very excited for Doom

I'm a VSCode user as of a few weeks ago for the same reason. Trying to get React to play nice in emacs, especially when compared to what I got out of the box in VS Code, was an exercise in frustration. Similar problems with Elixir. I r

Yeah, that's what made it such a fun read to me, like you said it just continually gets more and more out there. It explores some really interesting ideas that I haven't seen touched on in much of the sci-fi I've read. Anothe

I found these parts of the book completely fascinating, but also the most "scientifically hand-waved" stuff in the whole series. I've never been a big stickler for "hardness" in my sci-fi, but I'd have liked to

I would guess that the _vast_ majority of guitarists learn that "G D Em C" sounds good _long_ before they understand that it's an I V vi IV progression. I started off playing guitar with three open string power chords, and I
