One must imagine Sisyphus happy. Python just loves to break working code on a regular basis with its new releases. If your code is protected from untrusted user data and the internet, Python 2 is actually a really nice language that doesn&#

Ask not what you can do to the attack helicopter, but instead what the attack helicopter can do to you. Increase vulnerability is only one side of the coin. If there are still valuable missions that can be better done by an attack helicopte

I'm not sure, all of the recent Pixels were on the Cellebrite leak list as accessible without brute-force even while cold. Of course, the recent iPhones were too. Maybe there is no solution, or maybe Cellebrite is lying a little bit wi

Could be, yeah. I'm a bit skeptical though. This took place months ago, and the conversation ended in a pretty reasonable place, something like "nice to meet you, take care" from me. I would have expected a few more engagemen

So gross. How much do they really make per month from each customer who sees these kinds of ads? Can I just pay them an extra $10/yr to _never_ show me an extra ad? My Roku TV just pushed a new channel to my home screen, alongside a gi

Hmm I wonder why the downvotes? Maybe people felt this did not add enough to the discussion. Let me try again with more words. I am pointing out that the world is full of risk. Under-prepared kids with half-developed prefrontal cortexes dri

It is certainly possible for a small group to cause disproportionate harm. Physical access is a powerful tool. Then again, what is worse than a small group who hates? A large group who doesn't care.

Not to be a jerk, but you would be wrong. GPS spoofing is a growing problem in commercial aviation. So far it has not led to any fatalities, but it has led to a significant number of system malfunctions which degrade the safety features ava

License plates are incredibly insecure. They are a short, easy to automatically recognize ID that is expensive to change, and it is a crime to drive while they are covered.

That's totally fair. After all, laws are about what people will force you to do using (the threat of) violence, while ethics and morals are about how you personally navigate the world, and a bit about how people will try to shame or so
