   They avoid attaching Google name to those projects and their licenses are proper. There is no "Google" word in the dart front page except "Dart is an open-source project with contributors from Google and elsewhere.".

    They need make some changes in Chrome for doing this right. They aim to make DOM nodes garbage collectible with project oilpan [1] AFAIK. Both Dart and V8 VM will benefit from this. So this will take some time. But Dart is already very usef

    Dart's one advantage is very fast development cycle if you use Dart VM in Dartium. No js compilation needed. Very well designed user APIs, Excellent modularity (with pub) and good editor support eliminates many opponents.

    This does not changed the fact that chrome crushed the competition just like gmail crushed others. It took a very long time others to keep up and they are still behind in most cases. IMHO v8 deserves all the credit for the advance of JavaSc
