Another "more advanced game" is the collaboration game. In this game, the players determine their common ground. The players evaluate each other and think, "Hey this person seems to be good at X and knows a lot about Y. I kno

I think the idea of only hiring the best is misguided. I’ve hired dozens of people, and I’ve yet to hire a “bad” one. So, either I’m really good at picking the good ones, or there is a low bad candidates per non-bad candidate ratio. Now, no

In the 1990s, there were a few hundred thousand good programmers. In the 2020s, there will be a few hundred million good programmers. I agree with the other comments: programming is no longer a good career to make money, but it’s become an

The next step in authenticity will probably be devices that cryptographically sign media with the device id, author, time and place.

Sometimes one has to understand intermediate economics .... For instance, in cases of inelastic demand and low liquidity (like housing), if prices are pegged at a maximum that buyers can pay, the actual equilibrium price could be much highe

Obviously. But, are you expecting a 10% decrease in prices, or 0.5%? Why so defensive? I’m asking Because if it works, I’d like to sell the idea to skeptics. We all lean scientific here, right?

How much do you think it will affect housing prices? Is there a model that can predict the effect? I'll be surprised if it helps a lot. Demand seems infinite.

I definitely didn't perform well on the first few algorithm tests. I was rusty, and the questions took me by surprise. But, after doing more prep, I believe I nailed most of the later ones. 80 Interviews! Wow, I am out of touch.

Not sure - in all cases, I asked for feedback afterward, but all had policies of not giving feedback. I only interviewed at places where I believed that I met most of the criteria. A couple were full-stack Angular / Node roles. The res

I didn’t read the paper, only the blog post. But, why does the simulation have to exist within the same universe? Also, wouldn’t a procedurally-generated universe alleviate the need for high-fidelity?

I don’t know why it's posted, but Booz Allen won a contract a few years ago to take it over. It makes boatloads of cash, like literally hundreds of millions of dollars in profit. Because of that, there was a long procedural battle for

Won’t most of these cause more wealth inequality? I think economics should be focused on improving peoples‘ lives, not just increasing the GDP.

I think he means that printing money doesn’t change supply and demand curves. It only lowers the value of the money that one already has. For example, if one government prints more money, it doesn’t cause Global inflation. It just makes one

If I remember correctly, the agile manifesto was written, in large part, as a reaction to RUP, Spiral and other heavy weight iterative and incremental processes (not waterfall, btw). Its point was to redirect teams back to the prize. In the

My issue is that he implies that there’s something nefarious going on because of a lack of discussion of genes. I claim he lacks critical thinking because he ignores that the book’s primary audience is a person with past trauma, not someone

The reviewer shows lack of critical thinking and lack of understanding of how genes work when he goes on a political rant at the end of the first section. Armchair scientists have got to go.

Strongly disagree. Many Americans have understood for 50 years that the only way to stop fossil fuels use would be through government regulations. But, companies like Exxon have continually used their lobbying muscle to stop it.
