Looks like the OP is just trying to plug his "blog." Very lame. http://news.ycombinator.com/submitted?id=rajeshvaya

Why are we linked to some blog instead of the original source, especially when it's just copied verbatim and with an annoyingly low-res graphic. Original source with high-res info-graphic: http://mashable.com/2011/11/08/work-from-home-2/

Ugh they didn't take the left-right scrolling/history thing out in OSX Lion from the beta. Infuriating that I can't scroll left without going back one page. Any setting discovered yet to turn this off?

Didn't they start doing this about 6 months ago?

My thoughts go out to his family and close friends. We all will miss Steve but few of us really knew him, his family and friends must be devastated this evening. Stay strong.

I know it's not logical but I was disappointed that the new "deep space exploration system" didn't look like something out of Star Trek. Instead they made another fucking rocket.

Yes you're right, that part is probably manual. I misunderstood the question, I thought he meant the amount shown from the card. My mistake.

Jonathan 1.0 automated it, why couldn't they? To curb abuse they are probably just not polling/updating as often. Who knows.

Got myself a caramel macchiato. Works and I'll definitely donate later. Hopefully this lasts and doesn't get abused.

But he specifically mentioned having to physically be at the Starbucks. Why would he do that if he had cracked the PIN? I think there's a way for them to transfer from one card to another, physically at the stores POS system. Can't think of

I think Sam/OP should transfer all the money he took back onto Jonathan's card. In small increments of course in order to curb further abuse like what he committed.

Same problem here. Has happened a few times when starting to play video but has also happened a few other times. Seems like something with the video card, hopefully Apple can fix it with a driver update. I don't use iStat.

Absolutely absurd and amazing at the same time. Tip your hat to Apple, nothing else to do in this case.

Interesting read. I had no idea things were getting so tough over in Canada. You hear some things across the border to the U.S. but unless you're actively seeking news you won't hear much.

I don't find myself exhausted by non-fiction and I also don't consider coding text books/articles/tutorials/documentation to be "books". When I say books I mean fictional texts. I find myself exhausted by fiction while I read, it feels like

I'm going to sound really illiterate but who reads two books a week? I read a ton, as most programmers do but I read perhaps one or two [fictional] books PER YEAR.

My question to anyone I catch doing that: Are you saving that code for a rainy day? The answer then usually varies but more often than not they get the point and delete it.

Is there a good site you guys prefer when looking for freelance work? I've never done side projects for cash but it sounds fun and I could use the cash.

I'm from Brooklyn and based my comment on that. Could be that you Manhattan natives are different, quite honestly I haven't met too many people that were born and raised in Manhattan.

Most people who live in NYC weren't born or raised there. I could see why conversation would appear to be easy for them (you?). I can tell you though, real New Yorkers don't like talking to strangers.

That's the case in the US as well. I think it's common courtesy more than anything else. Same reason a man doesn't take the urinal immediately next to another that is being used, unless he has to. It is courteous to give people their person

Actually, reports suggest it now has 512MB RAM just like the iPhone 4. Apple doesn't like talking hardware specs, they feel it distracts from the overall package that is both the hardware and software. They give vague numbers like 2x better
