Async/await became ergonomic and widespread only recently, I am sure there were async systems in the '80 but for example nodejs focus on non blocking I/O changed how a lot of people thought about servers and concurrency (whet

My limited knowledge of Cap'n'Proto (read the docs once years ago) server and clients can peer stubs, so that is server C receives a stub originated from server A via client B then C can try to call A directly.

I was always a fan of the Wheel of Law where every week a random law is selected and tweaked by chatGPT. If you do not know the laws of tommorow you cannot game them and also makes long term planning way more exciting.

Wasm is sandboxed at pretty much the same security boundary as js there is nothing a DOM-enabled wasm module could do (security/privacy wise) that JavaScript can't already do

The three main camps of wasm use cases are ( in no particular order ) 1. Non browser application (lightweight cloud, plugins, sandboxing) 2. Performance kernels (like compiling a game/rendering engine or AI stuff) 3. Compiling js-like

You can't even run wasm in browsers without JavaScript, it is not a supported <script /> type Anyway I am quite sure that you could almost completely get rid of js glue code by importing the static Reflect methods and a few

The practical argument is that while initially the DOM API was developed to be language agnostic with more of an eye to Java/C++ than JavaScript since a while ago this is no longer the case and many web APIs use JavaScript data types a

I am not sure what you actually want but it sounds like something where the component model (the backbone of WASI) might help. It defines a framework to allow modules to communicate with structured data types by allowing each module to deci

I suspect the versioning is going to replicate the JavaScript version system where versions are just sets of features that a runtime can support or not, I am not sure how feature discovery works in wasm though
