I had a Motorola Dext, HTC Desire Z, Blackberry Passport, Blackberry KeyOne, and Titan Pocket. And Gemini PDA. The Passport was pretty much perfect, and I've not loved a phone as much before or since. ISTR Unihertz had to make some sig

Referrer-Policy is a response header, so in this case it would be Google sending it, and the browsers who would be honouring it. You have to hope that the browser makers get it correct... Unless I misunderstood?

It’s heartwarming to see Rich Hickey corroborating Rob Pike. All the recent LLM stuff has made me feel that we suddenly jumped tracks into an alternate timeline. Having these articulate confirmations from respected figures is a nice confirm

I'm curious what you did with it? I spent a little time with ChucK with the Oxford Laptop Orchestra (as was) which was an offshoot from the Princeton one. I was there as a technologist, not a musician. Always had a soft spot but never

Was busking on Oxford with an accordion. An American tourist gave me a bottle of wine. Less exotic than some stories here but I remember it 20 years later.

I’ve talked to apple support reps in the past. It’s absolutely not surprising to hear that there’s confusion. ISTR some aren’t actually direct Apple employees, so they don’t have access to certain information.

Isn't the obvious thing to generate different classes for different ranges over the input? Then the classes could be loaded lazily. And if you then make the ranges tree-shaped you get logarithmic complexity, which massively cuts down t

I sometimes speak into my voice recorder when I’m out for a walk and have a thought. Those voice notes can be many minutes long, and full of repetition and silence. When no one’s looking obviously. Not sure how that would work with the ring

iOS has recently added a ”trigger voice recorder” to the swipe-down screen from the lock screen. It takes a random length of time to start recording. But it’s always too long. And it’s unreliable. This would be much more convenient. Though
