   I agree in large part, but Hong Kong is closely connected to the electronics industry and impact many tech companies and start ups.

   How does spending VC money help with this? You will still inevitably end up getting locked into whatever company you use

   I think it depends a lot on what type of job you and your family members have and where you live.

   At least the non-paywalled part sounds like this is Apple developed instead of using a chip from an external partner.

   The last few years they have been overly focused on their agenda and many times haven't even made a visible effort to investigate fairly. NYT employees have been fired for disagreeing with the prevailing opinion in the newsroom.

   That is $300 per person, which is a small fraction of the overall budget.

   Though you don't need unions for that. Enough teachers at a local school refused to go in individually that the administrators were forced to make sane policies.
