Hopefully the FAA holds Uber to a higher standard than the Arizona DOT did. Uber's history and culture of skirting regulation is concerning when it comes to aviation.

Simply shutting them down probably wasn't the best solution, but those institutions were generally more geared towards locking people away than recover & treatment.

This solution doesn't take into account basic supply & demand though. There is a significant demand for housing in SF & the bay area. If housing is provided for free or even below market, demand will come from far & wide.

Cost of housing is a big one. Low housing costs and plenty of space available make the homeless problem both less likely and easier to deal with.

This does seem excessive, but I'd like to see a more detailed breakdown of spending. SF vs. Manhattan is a better comparison as New York city as a whole has more/cheaper space available than SF.

Who says we should save it? Perhaps having 47,000 clones with zero genetic diversity has resulted in a population that is unable to adapt, especially vs. species with more genetic diversity. Why does this population deserve saving rather th

They are profitable in many cities, they basically just reinvest 100% of profits in geographic expansion. Amazon did the same thing, and investors said the same thing, and look how that turned out.

What's wrong with banning voice calls? It would be incredibly annoying to have to sit next to someone yelling into a phone on a 4+ hour voip call during a flight.

I'm surprised that remote video cameras aren't used by tower controllers. The perspective of the control tower makes it difficult to catch issues like this, but a simple video camera aligned with the center-line of each runway wou

Interesting, that instinct to Google for the answer is actually one of the 'culture fits' that we look for. There are a surprising number of candidates & engineers that simply give up when they encounter a hard problem.
