To see Putin as a weak evildoer is falling for US propaganda. The truth is more nuanced. Strong powers take advantage of weak powers and the US is no exception. We do it by expanding NATO territory. There are also arguments to be made th

How do you explain the success of the capitalist zones in China relative to the rest of the country with this worldview that the benefits of capitalism must come from exploiting others?

Why do you believe that Tether is investing in riskier assets than treasuries and equivalents? With so much capital, and all the scrutiny they've had for many years and throughout many cycles it seems incredibly foolish to do anything

It's somewhat ironic that the government and specifically the army corps of engineers created the central valley. It was a desert / dust-bowl before. It's also sad that a central valley project could never happen today. The

Yes, the other challenge is current energy costs. Right now, vertical farms are likely better off selling their solar back to the grid rather than using it for farming. Maybe they can grow mushrooms for now :D

That's true with most batteries. It's foolish for car-markers to not include an air-temp variable when making range claims, I predict you will see all of them do that. Battery longevity will also soon include depth-of-discharge a

Even in the unlikely case that you do outcompete everybody, free trade is still a significant benefit. Many don't understand the economic principle of comparative advantage, it is counterintuitive.

No, the issue is you were taking a process that was solar and instead making it dependent on the grid which is mostly fossil fuel powered. Until energy is much much cheaper, vertical/indoor farms just don't make sense.

Long form essay isn't great for that, especially as taught in school. Writing an idea down as concisely as possible is important, the rest is just embellishment and is easily handled by AI.

Cities are already energy efficient compared to the suburbs. Most cities have plenty of suburbs around them, and lots (arguably too many) large parking garages that can be used for the same purpose.
