Tesla is a metonym for Musk. Everything they do is by his direction unless he explicitly says "I was unaware of this and will be putting a stop to it immediately," which he has done multiple times. The corporation is ultimately an

I love Tesla to death and in most cases will defend them beyond the point of reason. But I took a test drive in a model S for the first time earlier this year and almost immediately noticed autopilot’s extremely unreliable behavior— it woul

Ah, so now SpaceX has been designated a "single achievement" (not a vast range of achievements over 16 years), and the singular "SpaceX" is apparently also the only thing Elon Musk has ever done. Is that what you're

Let's rephrase that: what does creating the world's finest space program in a mere decade and a half have to do with succeeding at profoundly difficult technological ventures where you have no prior experience? Quite a lot.

But that's the great trick he pulled....convincing everyone that not reaching 500,000 cars per year in 2 years is "failure"-- that Tesla is exhibiting an "inability."

Uh, no. This is one of those really specious arguments that sounds clever until you think about it. The main thing preventing total flying car takeover is that there is no technology that would make the product viable-- as has been pointed

And how many times have these 'pros' predicted Tesla's demise in the last 10 years? How many times does someone have to be wrong before you stop standing behind their opinions?

How many times have you predicted Tesla's demise over the past 10 years? Just like those people on radio shows believing they've identified the impending end of the world.

They're kind of odd books because mostly their characters and plots are quite poor-- dull and badly written, and yet the world of the Culture stays with you because it's SO unique and SO well-crafted. Excession is the one book

Don't be ridiculous. Fear of terrorism is not the only factor. Cellphones are one of the past century's greatest contributions to public safety. If you want to be antagonistic about the threat of a bombing, how about a more common
