Yeah, I had the same (also with the i3 window manager and the fish shell): it came with sane[1] defaults to allowed me to chuck out my previous big, grown-over-the-years config and start over much smaller. [1] very subjective but they were

Doom Emacs is worth a try. Comes with Vim bindings by default but these can be disabled. https://github.com/hlissner/doom-emacs#doom-emacs

Haha, what an argument. Grandma does just fine on Android and would be utterly confused by iOS. It's all about what you're used to.

No, the person you're replying to is right: we've had decades and decades of warnings. Small steps could have been taken 30 years ago but now it's too late for that.

The Netherlands will not be ambitious. Our (NL) climate policies have been a dumpster fire. We're like in the bottom of the EU when it comes to that.

Are you Dutch?! Because we, the Dutch, haven't been really progressive for like at least two decades. There's limits on the age you're allowed to buy alcohol in The Netherlands just like in other countries.

Phew, I've been using tiling window managers for 15+ years now so I don't really know. I've always been interested in trying out different window managers and UI/UX concepts. When I started with Linux in the 90's i

I don't know if fish counts as an alternative shell since it is still pretty close to bash and zsh, just with better defaults requiring less configuration (similar to i3wm with respect to "better defaults"). I just use it as

Well, to be somewhat fair: the IJsselmeer used be a sea (Zuiderzee) but The Netherlands blocked it off with a large dyke in the early 1900's. So you could consider it part of the long term planning
