If I finally decide to pull the plug I will probably invest time to build my own setup around OS tooling. Main benefits would be much lower price and independence from lock in. And it's not like one has to build their own solution here

My feelings as well. What we really need is a ansible script or a docker file, which would build a Jenkins instance which everyone could use. You would of course need different tools for various build setup and technologies, but CircleCI is

I doubt branching would stop them from releasing new content for Classic WOW, if only people would be interested in playing that and paying for the game. I am sure they won't do full blown expansion for Classic, but new content within

If you have a working website it takes like 5 lines of code and random electron guide to actually do a POC. If you want to have a standalone APP, you need to have locally working SPA app. That requires rather deeper familiarity with current

Make sure that DNS provider offers an API and that none of their infrastructure is hosted on CF. :D

The lookup is essentially random. If you point DNS to 2 IP's and one of those goes down, then (without going into detail) half of your requests will fail.

No, dns doesn't work like this, you can't have backup records.

What things are misstated? General arguments are worthless. Anyway I do not recall Postgres being broken few years ago. It had less features, was slower, but was working as expected. Whenever someone points out that some severe problems wit

If that’s the argumentation then Postgres is over 22 years old which makes it over two times better? On the other hand Windows is over 30 years old and it still hasn’t fixed many issues which for me are the reasons why I don’t want to have

If simplicity and lack of migrations is the only advantage of MongoDB then there is no reason to use it in place of Postgres, since you can just use JSONB instead and not worry about any of those.

Same. I went on hype train, got burned badly and I am never going to use MongoDB again.

Close to 20 years of using both MySQL and PostgreSQL as a programmer but as an sysadmin as well I would pick Postgres any day for everything. YMMV.

Seriously this. Sleep and hydration. This sounds as trivial and stupid that most of the people will dismiss this advice for this very reason. People often prefer complex solutions which they do not really understand instead.

Existence of such system wouldn't make much difference, because no authority would wan't to use it to access the data. They would claim that the target's inability to detect a wire is crucial to the ongoing investigation.

You have way too much faith into the the idea, that open source projects are free of backdoors / exploits and that the community can prevent creation of those. Aside from that, there is currently no platform, where 100% code is open so
