I live in a world overrun by capitalism and inundated with ads. The inescapable consumerism is sickening. That it’s the norm to run ads on practically every consumer product is absurd, and I feel gaslit that apparently everyone else is comf

The most frustrating part is that I want no logo. It’s the worst of both worlds; no brand reputation, yet still covered in ads.

At one point you could get a whole keyboard like that: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Optimus_Maximus_keyboard Apple has a patent on the concept; maybe there’s still one in our future: https://patents.google.

Friends and family publish via Instagram but I don’t use it myself. Scraping allows me to follow via “RSS” feeds so I’m not left out. (Remember when Facebook and Twitter had this built in?)

Can someone explain what I’m looking at in the crazy plot [1] at the top of Sine Curve? It’s just captioned with the expression that generated it: ContourPlot[Sin[x Sin[y]] == Cos[y Cos[x]], …] Simply pretty or is there some signific

To add a data point—I’m in this demographic and for unrelated (but maybe not uncorrelated) reasons have never elected to receive a call back from customer support (being “on call” is almost as bad as being on a call) and have never had food

This is how I imagine browser support for markdown could work. Plain text comes in over the wire and is rendered to taste.

I just wish existing browsers would render `Content-Type: text/markdown`.

About a year ago I moved Enter to the middle of the keyboard. It feels nice but I still occasionally press it when going for the letter that used to be there, and that can be a harmful typo to make.

Google Maps may not have progressed to “dread” yet, but it’s solidly at frustration/wariness as a result of its incessant attempts to manipulate me. It used to be just a tool, but it’s become an adversary.

I’d say the problem is that Apple reserves this as a privilege for themselves. On Android you can set Signal as your SMS handler and use it as a similar dual client. I miss that feature when using iOS.
