I saw something similar on Reddit r/FoundPaper where a parody of twinkle twinkle little star had a hilarious divergence at the end. Not all mutations have reproductive fitness but it is fascinating to see in the wild. https:/

Imagine a continuously-moving loop that stores bits. When you want a certain bit you just wait for it to loop back to the position you want.

Astro is great. If you are familiar with React, you can pick it up pretty much instantly. The design is simple enough to extend when needed as well for custom things.

It is surprising how long RC4 has lasted, honestly. Though it should have been dropped by everything long, long ago. That said, I remember when it came back for a short amount of time due to the BEAST attack which affected block ciphers in

Nothing wrong with it; it is simply colorful and overly verbose, perhaps, but that is a stylistic choice. Personally I feel like it really helps paint a mental picture. If the goal is simply to transfer information, then it would be conside

AdobeWebM is a plug-in to support webm for after effects and premiere and media encoder and etc. And yeah adding AV1 support is almost as simple as adding a lib to cmake but once you start looking into hardware acceleration things get trick

Notably, AVIF uses the HEIF container like HEIC. HEIF is an extension of ISOBMFF, mp4 files are another example of an ISOBMFF format. I'm surprised how ubiquitous that container format is becoming; webm uses the matroska / mkv for

AdobeWebM is adding AV1 support for webm files in premiere and after effects btw. It already has vp9 and 8 support! But yeah I'm hoping it becomes ubiquitous in the future.

And I'm glad they didn't. Protecting the installer keeps honest people honest. Protecting the runtime after installed means reduced performance and/or support headaches. That said I hope the developer didn't pay too much

Right, I know some studios have used it for high quality/resolution/framerate exports too, so it is definitely not dead. But still a dead end, from everything I've seen. No one seems to want to bother with it unless it is alr

I'm well aware of dark shikari. While there are obvious differences technologically and subjectively, on a generational level vp9 and HEVC are both positioned as h264 successors. We all know h264 is brilliant and flexible and very capa

VP9 is more on the level of H265 really. VVC/H266 is closer to AV1. It's not an exact comparison but it is close. The licensing is just awful for VVC similar to HEVC and now that AV1 has proved itself everyone is pivoting away fro

VVC is pretty much a dead end at this point. Hardly anyone is using it; it's benefits over AV1 are extremely minimal and no one wants the royalty headache. Basically everyone learned their lesson with HEVC.
