That is because there are over 7000 comments right now. Clearing it. Try again, it should be snappy.

I haven't really thought about that. I dunno, would people pay for this? What's a right monthly price for something like that? $3/month? $5/month? Edit: I know that if I create a SaaS out of this, you'll have me as

At the moment, there's no way. However, Captcha has been suggested. Annoying, but it'll work.

There's no way atm. Can we export all Disqus comments into JSON? If so, I can probably write a script to convert that into a sequence of SQL statements and generate a `sqlite3.db` file. And if you place that in the root directory, all

The `init_commento(" http://0.0.0.0:8080")` in the README is an example. You can host your own instance of Commento and just point to that.

It doesn't at the moment. But someone filed and issue for this and someone else has already begun work on this! I <3 open source.

I deliberately didn't want to use jQuery so that it'll stay more lightweight :) And thanks, Go is absolutely fun to write.

Ha, thanks! I wrote a bot for cherry-picking comments [1] a couple of weeks ago. It's mostly for a large open source community I'm a maintainer in where newcomers make multiple PRs. We have a linear git history, so we ask them to

It wasn't really on my mind. I did occassionally think about it (and maybe even acted accordingly), but I don't think it really affected my work flow.

I just hacked this together today. Disqus is really heavy and apparently uses tons of tracking services. So I figured - why not build my own? I've been learning Golang for the past month or so too, so this was a great excercise for me.

I interned there last year. They really want to get this point across. Like, I had to sit through an entire day of orientation repeatedly telling me this in different ways. We even had "fun" games to re-inforce the principles lol.

Wow, the Emacs website is really pretty. But I like vim's one too - I feel they symbolize the internal ideals: vim being lean and small with just the essentials (at just 230 kB) while Emacs is more fully loaded (930 kB).

A little nit-picky, but your "What Our Users Say about Us" section is just people describing their mistakes. It says literally nothing about your platform itself.

That is absolutely beautiful. Thank you for that, I know what I'll be using the next time I need to use HTML (I'm terrible with JS/CSS - I usually spend 15+ minutes trying to center something).

I'm really impressed with the quick response from the golang team. The fact that they didn't mind introducing breaking changes shows that their priorities are right.

>32/64GB RAM I'm genuinely curious - why do you need 64 GB of RAM on a laptop? Are there industries where this is a necessity? At that point, wouldn't you be better off having remote machines?

I don't know about that. IMO they are the coolest of the big companies - Microsoft, Apple, IBM, Amazon all feel more corporate-y.

I don't think they're spending money on this. Maybe some Googlers worked this out on their 20% time. Which is designated to not be of much commercial use anyway.

I'll never understand why a company has to keep growing. Obviously I don't have a degree in economics, but why can't a company do well and then continue being so without having the need to innovate all the time? Sorry if I&#x
