The thing we need to time is - how long did it take the author to write the code vs writing in C. Number of lines of code is a proxy, but not always accurate. The emphasis on expressing ideas clearly, sometimes at the cost of performance ha

Using xinput set-prop on the touchpad to tune parameters doesn't really fix it. I end up having to disable the touchpad and use the external mouse just to be able to type without accidental mouse jumping around. #1 linux usability issu

If you run mypy or pyre-check on the code above, it'll give you a type error, just like a C compiler would.

Why generate types from a query when you can write a schema for your objects and then write queries where types can be inferred based on object types and query constructs? Some ideas from a recently open sourced project: https://

"Application logic as a library" is the right way to think. We can't even make "threads into a library", let alone "database as a library". The challenge is to design safety so badly written application lo

Not clear if you can compose these functions. Flatbuffers over rocksdb should be considered an alternative. You can then use iterlib to do similar things. Plug: https://github.com/facebookincubator/iterlib
