That is easily caught by a model checker that tries the equivalence classes. Or just normal coverage tooling.

I suspect that the algorithm is wrong because the complexity is suspiciously good. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Triangle-free_graph#Triangle...

Actually it does, you can look it up. It’s naturally a bit more involved than what I use in a causal HN comment.

20% Energy savings probably have a hard time paying for the wages and the infrastructure needed.

Glass recycling generally makes little sense because the raw materials are abundant and recycling glass takes a lot of energy.

The range is pretty wide depending on the source of the crude oil: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Energy_return_on_investment Refinery losses seem to be around 10% https://anl.app.box.com/s/a8s8qa

I’m not a web developer, but it seems to me that the referrer that you get after a click on a link should be sufficient to count clicks vs impressions.

EVs compare even better to ICEs if you take into account the energy needed to take crude oil from the ground and turn it into gasoline/diesel.

„Representation“ has a formal definition in information theory that matches a small program that computes the number but does not match „pi“ or „omega“.

Pi doesn't contain a lot of information since it can be computed with a reasonably small program. For numbers with high information content you want other examples like Chaitin's constant.

Where I live, the chief risk (aside from the usual risks of investments) are spending years and years fighting bureaucrats and NIMBYs to get the necessary permissions to put solar panels on land zoned for agriculture.

Solar panels don't contain heavy metals as far as I know.

When it's very sunny and your solar panels produce a lot there are many other solar panels also producing a lot, so electricity is generally cheap.

If there had been a few thousand times less coal on the world but all of it readily accessible the Industrial Revolution had been over before we had time to move on from steam engines. We probably would have used all of it for heating in an

Using finite resources more slowly gives you more time to invent alternatives. Imagine what would've happened if we used up all fossil fuels we had alternatives.

Is that true? It was my understanding that chaotic systems (with a known initial state) could be predicted to arbitrary precision by throwing enough compute at the problem. Of course knowing the initial state is impossible in the real world
