I don’t think that is a majority behavior. Few people consume to own the libs. At least far fewer people than those who just like meat more than they care about their marginal contributions to climate change.

That seems not to be the case in large parts of Europe. Why do you think that is?

To be fair, often that convincing happened at gunpoint. I would want to live in a society that enforced climate action with weapons. But of course politicians could do a lot more to motivate climate action before guns would be needed.

Struggling with languages is often a function of not putting enough hours into learning them, and less a function of age. Of course finding time can get more difficult after you leave school.

There is nothing that can absorb millions of new workers. If AI destroys jobs to that degree pitchfork manufacturers will be the only ones left in business. Where I live at least right now it is quite hard to find contractors for anything a

If you want AI-proof careers it seems risky to go into knowledge work at all. Robotics lag behind mere computation, so something where you do awkward work in places designed around human bodies seems a lot safer. Plumbing, landscaping or so

But what share of translation dollars are non-formulaic content? To me it seems that there are tons of manuals for dishwasher and such to translate (where from my experience quality basically doesn't matter) and only a limited amount o

People and ecosystems adapt to the status quo. The problem with climate change is not the temperature per se (earth has been hotter in the past) but the rate of change that makes adaption very difficult.

Without concerted action against it, people with power have better chances of increasing their power than people without power. Power naturally accumulates into small groups. Empirically it seems less likely that people with power are parti

I find it amusing that you classify a SQL database running on a Unix box as simple and unchanged in decades. Databases are some of the most complex pieces of software we regularly use and subject to highly active research. The operating sys

True AGI would upend society in such a way that I'm not sure that being a shareholder of anything would be meaningful. Perhaps being a pitchfork manufacturer is the winning play in this scenario.
