Here's a thought: : if you have a LIBOR-linked mortgage with Barclays, you could probably cease repayments, report the bank to credit rating agencies and and sue them for contractual misrepresentation.

The explanation given in wsj for problem 2 is totally wrong. The balloon will do the same as a person in the car (nod backwards), only less pronounced due to air resistance.

I also think it's a fair question, but more about logical reasoning and estimating than basic maths. As an engineer, you could be asked to estimate the number of load balancers needed for X traffic with Y latency - similar problem.
