Property rights still exist but since it only became a concept about 80 years ago lots of property still belongs to the government and they can generally give you something worth more than your current property.

Basically it is cheaper for the government to enforce and needs fewer people to oversee. Also it doesn't apply to small companies only large companies.

You often don't have to bribe people. Just talk and explain the situation. Laws are often strict but loosely enforced unless it is a priority.

I'm living in China at the moment. Feel free to ask any questions. Here are some points that you might find interesting: 1. There is an income tax but there is no income tax return. If you pay too much you don't get anything back.

Be aware that China doesn't have a national police check or a credit check system either private or public. Imagine trying to rent a house or get a loan without a credit check or police check. The social credit system is basically a po

Most local delivery is done using scooters (cheep) not cars(expensive). There is so much online shopping that distribution centers are roughly every 10km so you go back to base get a load and a new battery. Same for food. The difference is

I live in Shanghai and already have an electric vehicle ... it just isn't a car. I would estimate that almost 20% of the population already has electric scooters. That being said I doubt they will get rid of them because that isn'

I know there is mould in my house. We do three things to deal with it: 1. Air Filter (more for pollution but it helps with mould) 2. Dehumidifier which we leave on 24/7 basically for the mould. This is the big one. 3. Wash any mould wi

Have a look at Godot. I'm looking forward to 3.1 (lazy typing) and planning on using it to teach programming. This will be my first time so we'll see how it goes. But it is cross platform, small, has everything built in and can be

Been playing with Godot since version 3 came out this year. It is a massive update but it is worth being aware that it doesn't feel complete. It was released because it is good enough to get people started on projects and the port them

I'm still on the fence if it is superior governance (corruption is common). Although the same could be said of the USA's economy. Most of the growth in the USA is just random luck from the end of world war 2 and then riding the wa

No it isn't actually true. Roughly 80% of Chinese people are happy with the direction the country is going vs 40% in the USA. Most people don't care about censorship and the ones that do can get around it. From their point of view

Be aware that for a number of cultures "burnt offerings" were more like "roast offerings". They often eat the cooked meat. This is one of the ways that the priests got food.

We already have some. I know the Arduino CPU is open source (slow) and there are open source MIPS CPUs but again they are slower than ARM and X86 CPUs. The problem is people don't want slow CPUs.
