I remember doing 900k writes/s (non-replicated) already back on kafka 0.8 with a random physical server with an old fusionio drive (says something about how long ago this was :D). It's a fair point that if you already have a pgsql

Are you importing things from all over the internet, without pinning to a specific version? It sounds a lot like it, at least, and in that case I'm not sure how this is a flaw of Nix, or how it would be much different in other places.

Hate it (using the Firefox one). The look is weird, seems to waste space. New copy button sucks. I spent 10 minutes one day not being able to login with a copied password, bit realising it was because I was lacking the second click. Also th

It sounds like you're saying NixOS is unsuited for production just because it's still a bit niche. I think that's a false dichotomy.

It doesn't take any more competent people to self-host a modern stack, than it does to babysit how a company uses something like Azure. The original value proposition is false, and more and more are realising this.

We've been running it for 7-8 years in production, and it has (and is) serving us well.

We use it for a huge part of our infrastructure. 3000+ pods running on an on-premise K8s cluster, with most supporting services and systems also running on NixOS. We could never have done what we do, with the manpower we have, with somethin

I got this when I was about 8 as one of my first Technic sets yet, what a great memory. Think I prefer the Formula 1 version of 8880 though :D ( https://www.flickr.com/photos/125424377@N04/23490561113/in/a

I have two different Jabra bluetooth headsets, both work on Linux with a microphone, but you have to change to the headphone profile (using something like pavu) to enable the microphone.
