They were so burned out that they decided to use an LLM to write this blog post. It should be embarrassing to people that they can’t even write a whole argument out by hand. It’s not that hard. All you have to do is believe in it. This blog

I mean…that’s essentially identical to group presentations in general. The other students didn’t do the work; what they don’t do the work with is irrelevant.

In what universe are you applying firefighting material to something that is still electrified? The analogy is pretty easy, man. It is straight up a failure of triage to look at Trump and say “what needs to go is everything around this” Sim

You do in fact need to fix the wire first! That's a very important part of an electrical fire. Power must no longer be dissipated via the bad wire before you start trying to extinguish the fire. You don't need to do RCA and repair

Novelty is overrated in mathematics by those outside mathematics. We desperately need lots of less novel things in math right now.

Explains why I love R so much. Once you throw out ambitions to be a "spherical language" (love that phrase) and pretensions to some austere, impersonal beauty, APL-likes grow their own kind of beauty. Instead of PHP's fractal

Why is it not more of a scandal that all these anti-AI articles are written, using large language models? Why is that not an embarrassment for everyone who moans and carps and complains about the craft?

There’s a bunch of answers to this question, but I think the easiest one is that a pocket calculator contains a table of logarithms. You can do much of that other stuff by yourself, but no one alive carries a table of logarithms around in t

Yeah. I know. I'm not disagreeing with your diagnosis, I'm just trying to gently rib you that your correction is misaimed. It's a joke, ya know? >Single-precision computations for traditional applications are suitable only

You need it if you want the idea of total ordering over the extended Reals. There's +/- infinity--an affine closure, not projective (point at infinity)--so to make that math work you need to give 0 a sign.

You are totally correct but I need you to recognize that "in ancient times" includes the 1990s. I am...very sorry to be the one delivering this news. It was not a pleasant realization for me, either.

This is true in military tactics but it is often phrased in the contrapositive: if you want to move fast, establish enough trust such that talking is not needed. The idea is that speed is *essential* but coordinative action is too. Most com
