It doesn't "know" that the capital of Oregon is Salem. To take an extreme example, if everyone on the internet made up a lie that the capital of Oregon is another city, and we trained a model on that, it would respond with th

Thanks for sharing, I hadn't found a nice semantic nugget to capture these thoughts. This is pretty close! And I've heard of the stories described in the "color terminology" section before.

Have you ever seen a video of a schizophrenic just rambling on? It almost starts to sound coherent but every few sentence will feel like it takes a 90 degree turn to an entirely new topic or concept. Completely disorganized thought. What is

Definitely. It kind of depends on what you like. I'm drawn to aesthetics more than I am story. Those photographers are some of the greats though, for sure, and I do think most of the "greats" are that because they blend aesth

Used to go from Logan Circle to Reston and it was god awful. 1h15m some days. > Certain parts are pretty dangerous. It always felt pretty compartmentalized to me, but it's also where a lot of the cool shit and "culture" is

I lived in DC, just south of Logan Circle for the past 5 years, before moving out to Falls Church. I lived in Arlington for 2 years before that, and have plenty of friends in Alexandria and other parts of DC and NoVA, so I feel like I have

I think there will just be a delineation in companies and what they offer in the same way that people used to flock to the big tech companies for all the "perks". Remote will be a "perk", and people who care deeply about

You shouldn't need to measure your company's productivity in output based on these things. Are people getting the necessary work done? Your measures are wrong if you feel worried about not being able to tell if people are "ac

Just personal anecdotal data. The main factors for me are just general flexibility and commute. I used to commute 30m-1hr one way. So that's anywhere from 1-2h a day I'm getting back right at the start. Then flexibility: being abl
