Thanks for the reply. And I guess you do the service worker -> postgresql thing to avoid the database-per-user setup with pouch-couch 2-way sync?

It would be so nice to have it though! It could do a lot popularize recursive problem-solving and function writing, without having to go into modifying these functions to make them stack-safe.

Yes, this exactly. I'm surprised more people aren't thinking of this. Gift cards are nice because it kind of allows/forces you in a guilt-free way to relax and spend something at a certain store rather than just being cash th

I'm wanting to get into making 2d-ish explainer videos similar to the 3Blue1Brown math videos but much simpler for language/grammar explanations. Is Blender a good tool for that job or would it be better to use a simpler tool like

Was PouchDB / CouchDB used? I've found that it works marvelously for no-hassle syncing.

Yes! I think it's hard for people in the 1st world to imagine that not everyone can get data whenever they want. In one country even YouTube added a feature for downloading and saving videos for offline viewing because they knew that i

How many Canadians remember Cross Country Canada? It was a similar educational text-adventure where you learned about Canadian geography and commodities as you navigated your truck through greasy spoon dining shops and sketchy motels. We li

Cool stuff with the "slice units." I use systemd to keep apps running but didn't know all this. And yes I understand the basics of what Docker containers are. It just seems logical to me that it would be a lot more taxing on

I guess I'm one of those people mentioned on the rationle who keeps little servers ($5-10 Droplets) and runs a few apps on them. (Like a couple of Node/Go apps, a CouchDB, a Verdaccio server). I also haven't had issues with t

I've used this npm package to implement spaced repetition review of bookmarked words in a dictionary app. It's nicely put together and very readable. https://www.npmjs.com/package/supermemo

I would say one of the most important things they need to compete with WhatsApp is a better desktop client. WhatsApp's client is great because it works in the browser and is a joy to use. It would be nice if people didn't have to

Does the sound-card make any popping sounds turning on and off?? I have an older XPS 13-9343 and sadly this was a huge issue with Ubuntu/Linux. It would pop on and off whenever you used audio.
