$0.01 / 0.00000001 BTC = $1,000,000/BTC i.e. If BTC gets to be more than $1,000,000 apiece, this will be necessary to perform USD transactions down to the cent. Otherwise, it's not a problem

It'd almost be worth it to build in an evaluator for Scheme, just for SICP. Maybe someone will be able to do that as a plugin when the beta is released.

One aspect of Light Table that I find really cool, that I haven't seen discussed, is its utility to people who are just learning to program. I think its (current, anyhow) relative simplicity and instant feedback make it a really amazing too

I find Github has helped with this problem a lot.

Handy tip: If you want to appear sincere on the internet, use an exclamation point. "Thanks for posting my article!" doesn't come off sarcastic, even if it overstates your exuberance.

Are we having a code example party? I like Clojure: (map :total orders)

I remember when I would've agreed with you that your version is easier to understand and better, but now I don't. I think it's javascript's fault. If you were working on a lisp codebase (suspend your disbelief for a second for me, please),

I submitted this article expecting to learn a few things about my style. In this case, I didn't actually know you could interpolate into regexes like that, so thanks! And thanks for the typo catch, too.

It's hard to argue that the Clojure code is as easy to read as the Ruby or Python, and if you're working with a team that matters. Not to mention the relative dearth of Clojure-fluent developers. Neither of those hurdles is impossible to ov

I was working forwards from the Ruby example for all of these, so I may have implemented the Clojure one in a weird way. PHP cheats a bit to be the shortest, since it just looks up files to execute and renders stdout as the result, removing

Please do, I'll update and edit as appropriate. I wasn't aware a trivial way existed of storing a persistent variable in PHP between existed. I bet I'll feel dumb when I find out what it is, though.

There's a very good reason to use sapphire: since it has a (slightly) lower hardness than diamond, you can cut it into sheets with a diamond saw. Sapphire still has a very high hardness, much better than glass of any sort.

There's no reason to avoid the JVM ecosystem just because you don't like Java, especially if you've never done enough Java to develop a strong and well-founded hatred for its verbosity and excessive emphasis on mutability rather than for it

It should be noted that Clojurers are very much about having composable libraries with narrow applicability. In Sinatra or Flask, you get a server (interface), a routing syntax, and built-in templating. In Clojure, you have Compojure, which
