I've thought the same for some time now, it would do very well I think. The balance between the stages in Spore was way off. You could get all the way to space in like 4 hours, but I never could beat the final stage.

Agreed, actually I'd say the practical value of learning to code for the average person has been declining for some time. It is easier than it ever has been to get computers to do what you want. I think it will continue to get easier.
