Yeah, and that's the major issue with Signal/Telegram. They also have to pay the operational costs at the end of the day. Apple's services can be ad free because they hide the cost in the cost of phone but that is extremely a

This is blowing up quite big now and I have managed to shift a lot of my friends to Signal now, I wonder if WhatsApp will go back on its decision. As we stand now even Signal is not safe because of the business model. I wonder what's t

Yeah, Apple definitely deserves a lot of praise on these chips. They are not even incremental improvements but drastic ones which will probably change the landscape completely. Like AWS was working on their own ARM chips, they now have a be

The IG thing was just in response to the WhatsApp thing. But you are right, no point overthinking and complicating it. I will upgrade to a dual sim phone and use the other sim for new stranger communication. Though I think a lot of people d

It seems so amazing to me that Microsoft saw the ARM opportunity with Windows RT, released 8 years back but somehow managed to not succeed with a stellar ARM laptop story. Maybe Qualcomm is more to blame here for never progressing as well a

The Hong Kong episode might not upset people in PRC as they are being brought under same laws as people in PRC. Top entrepreneurs/researchers/engineers can buy HK activists being malicious or they can be just indifferent to them a

I really doubt something bad will happen to him even if he is under CCP custody. CCP can't be that stupid that they let a successful entrepreneur with an amazing story and global appeal go missing. Because if he really disappears it wi

It does show you are texting with a business account which might just seem weird to the other person. If they didn't find not having IG shady before, I am sure they will now.

I think the problem of going outside prevalent apps like Text/iMessage/WhatsApp is that not everyone will have the less prevalent ones. Few people have Telegram, Signal seems like a very niche tech/journalist thing.

I need to upgrade my Pixel 2 to a dual sim phone too. I think this seems like the easiest way. Not sure how WhatsApp etc support dual sim though.

Has Apple been poaching significant self driving talent to attempt self driving version of the electric car? Based on their consumer electronics past, Apple would probably nail the design and get the hardware mostly right. For self driving
