I was following the old GH issue / thread related to OpenCL support for 1.x of TensorFlow. I tinkered an got it working with opensource kernel drivers on GCN1 (HD 7970) https://github.com/tensorflow/tensorflow

I am not convinced the limiting factor is the computing power on device or the price of computing. I would rather bet on current "AI" not been good at general purpose tasks. Coherent thinking and creativity (AGI) is way above and

No dogmatic POV will stay untouched in this book. Kind of a tough medicine, but it may help you out from the depth of depression. I know Jordan Peterson refers to it in a couple of talks. Also it is so sharp and so linked to modern identity

Agreed, given their product line, been more about good looking plastic toys than actual 'good' things a car was really a moon shot. OK they may have ended licensing something to Daimler or the like but still doubtful.
