Are you thinking about resources for learning web frameworks like Rails, Django, etc.? Or do you want them to start working through some of the newer multi-purpose languages (Clojure, Scala, etc.)?

Congrats on creating such a nice client. And in C#, no less! Your title implies that your hand might've been forced here. Was that the case? Would you have preferred to keep it closed?

He denied paternity of his daughter Lisa, even testifying in court that he was infertile. Lisa's mother was on welfare for a time because of this. So if you are going to say he was a loving father, you should also mention that he was a neg

I wanted to post this great anecdote from Metafilter: Here’s a short tale of mine when I worked at Apple: One sunny autumn day, Steve (he was always Steve) was walking across Apple’s campus with a reporter toward Caffe Macs. I was walking

I'd agree, that last part was a bit saccharine. On net though, I thought it was great too.

Very surprising to read this. Was there anything in particular that bugged you about it? To me, Gruber captures Jobs as both a loving family man and a visionary who is selective with his attention to detail. This is a nice lesson, as I ofte

I have to disagree here. The author might be insensitive for raising this point so soon, but that doesn't diminish the point's validity. There's a difference between "Steve Jobs survived with cancer for 5 years" and "Steve Jobs barely reach

More importantly is why didn't it come out sooner I think the simple answer is "they wanted to release iOS 5 with the new phone." Rumors point to a lot of delays in iOS 5 development.

Since this was before the iPhone 4S was shifted from early summer, it made more sense a few months ago. More sense than zero isn't significantly different from zero. I said this a few months ago, and I stand by it now: there was no reas

So this flies over my head a bit. Can someone explain why: (a) Ryan Dahl is qualified to speak about these issues (i.e. he worked on the original Unix design or something) (b) Rob Pike's comments are a big deal to Ryan, and (c) whether Ryan

Is anyone really shocked? Here, I'll write out the tech media "design pattern" for a new Apple product. 1. Hype up killer pie-in-the-sky feature that makes zero economic sense for Apple (see: retina iPad, 4G iPhone with larger screen). Traf

This is an interesting idea: why not use FizzBuzz to show off your understanding of different paradigms? Someone who barely scrapes out an imperative-style FizzBuzz might not be ideal. On the other hand, someone who can write FizzBuzz in fu

Some people swear by their 15", while others (like me) have traded a bit of screen size for some portability. There are two major differences between the 15" Pro and the 13" Pro: monitor options and computing power. The 15" is obviously mor

While we're providing critique: clean up the writing on your resume and change the "skills" section to something relevant. Rating half your skills at 4 and half at 3 tells me zero. Finally, lose the Apple love. It's very unbecoming.

Audio is the core feature of the original iPod. Audio quality was not. iPods never supported Ogg Vorbis or FLAC, for example. Ultimately, some ppl like reading white-on-black text on LCDs at night instead of e-ink. LCDs aren't better or
