You're confusing patents with trade secrets. Most anything can be reverse engineered, doesn't mean I am legally able to start reproducing and selling it.

This is absolutely true. Every tester that we get in at our shop has the break-it mentality, but that just comes as part of how some of these people are trained to get through testing technical interviews. Wishing that QA was more standard

I'm in the same boat. I lead my QA team, both the automation and the manual testers. There are about 6 QA staff to about 24 developers, so we're vastly outnumbered. I've worked tirelessly to get any sort of quality initiative
