One great genre of HN comment is where people insist subscriptions are the only way a software business can work, as if commercial software sprung into existence fully formed in 2012.

It’s always great when years of medical and scientific studies are instantly debunked by HN’s top JavaScript developers. One wonders why we even bother having research universities.

Pretty easy. 1) Have a phone number with an area code from a place you haven’t lived since 2004 and nobody legitimate would ever call you from. 2) entirely block that area code. That takes care of 98% of it.

“Suddenly”? Remember all the “net neutrality” bullshit years ago that was all about begging the government to regulate the Internet? This has been going on since the early 00s probably. If you’re old enough to remember the 90s and earlier I

There are several? Venues around here use AXS, Seetickets/Eventim, Opendate. I buy more non-TM tickets than TM.

I resisted joining Costco for many years, because it seemed too culty, or just too popular in general (with my assumption being that most popular things are bad). Eventually they sucked me in though, and yes, it really is good.

Costco actually has a better checkout experience than most places IMO. They always have basically all lanes open, and the employees are efficient at moving people through. I love Wegmans for most groceries but their checkouts seem to be get
