I had been a Linode customer since 2008 and recently migrated to DigitalOcean about 6 months ago. So far my DO experience has been flawless. I needed basic, reliable block storage and at the time, Linode had promised "it's coming&

Fair point. But what about companies that create tax preparation software, such as TurboTax? That could be considered "seasonal" too, yet they've made great improvements over the years. A different scale of course, but same g

I'm also the same way. I try to keep everything, because I can, and I'm also now storing baby videos. I have a 2TB iCloud plan for my iPhone X. The phone is set to "Optimize Storage", so it will de-scale old "local&

You make it sound like switching Node versions on Linux is a hassle. Allow me to introduce you to nvm: https://github.com/creationix/nvm

Many of the official Docker images have Alpine variants. Check the tags of the image you're using.

I've done this for several apps. We have a large Jenkins 2 cluster and use declarative Jenkinsfile's. For Jenkins, you can accomplish this by simply setting up a Jenkinsfile that has an agent defined in each stage. Build your VueJ

The last time I tried using pipelines, it wouldn't let me use any arbitrary Docker image, I had to use one of the Atlassian "blessed" images. :/

GitLab is great and has come a very long way over the last several years. However, I still gladly pay GitHub $7 a month for my private repos because I feel that GitHub truly does offer a better code review and repository experience. GitLab

Agreed. Declarative pipelines coupled with pipeline shared libraries and BlueOcean have completely changed the Jenkins game. Pair that with the EC2 plugin and you have an auto-scaling build cluster!

I run and maintain a massive GitHub Enterprise installation. Features that make their appearance on .com end up in Enterprise about 3-4 months later. In an enterprise environment, I'm totally fine with GitHub testing those new features

Sorry, didn't mean it's pointless, I meant to say they have proved that this concept/idea can work. Siacoin has been up and running for a while now and works very well given how young the concept is. They have a great dev tea

If you're interested in Filecoin, I suggest looking into Siacoin. It's been online for several months and actually works. Filecoin is literally vaporware at this point with just a whitepaper.

Yes it is. For the client, multiplexing multiple requests across a single connection and only needing to negotiate TLS once can have huge benefits, depending on the page/site. You are after all building your app/site for your end

This is the easiest part, you just call: docker service update --image $image_name:$new_sha $service_name and Swarm handles the rest. You can even pass in rolling update options, so the container updates are staggered. Put this into

I suggest looking into Amazon ECS. They have auto scaling features that can trigger based on container-level alerts and thresholds.
