The most value i have ever gotten out of AI for coding was when i refactored about 20 thousand lines of gomega assertions into the more robust complex object matcher pattern. It did a good chunk of the grunt work quickly. was probably 85% a

I'm not expecting anything of this person. Was merely remarking that the public domains are incredibly rude areas and the reality of the difficulty of existing within them.

The big company use case is the ideal backstage use. Backstage is just a framework. you can use it to interface with the old system behind the scenes and provide a nicer layer on top for your application devs.

I see so many people say that llms have improved their programming and i am truly baffled by how. They are useful on occasion and i do use chatgpt and copilot daily but if they disappeared today it would be at worst a minor annoyance.

Ya I am also not following what the problem is with this approach. Is that not the entire point of options? Do people feel entitled to have all free services with no obligations of their own?

I have yet to see either copilot or gpt4 generate code that I would come close to accepting in a PR from one of my devs, so I struggle to imagine what kind of domain you are in that the code it generates actually makes it through review.

What doesn't make sense about it, it doesn't directly drive an increase on a budgetary line item. Of course no one in finance areas is going to pay attention to it

The fact that Github has been so unstable for so long is absolutely insane to me. I know ops is hard, but this level of consistent outage points to an endemic problem. Is it the legacy rails/mysql stack that is the largest culprit or i
