Do you know the difference between Methylmercury and Ethylmercury? Your comment suggests you don't.

The backgrounds in Primal were stunning. Phenomenal hand drawn animation too, especially the creatures. No shortcuts there.

Tartakovsky's Grievous was awesome. That character ended up being such a disappointment in the film. But I still liked how they tied that series straight into the final film. I was at a talk with Tartakovsky a long time ago. I don'

What a show. The finale wasn't my favorite, but I still liked it. Everything else was outstanding.

I agree wholeheartedly. Over a decade ago I was excited about all the new technological advancements in consumer devices. Every year, every month, something awesome was happening. Now I don't care anymore. New consumer tech features ba

Please no. They'll eventually use some dark pattern to force an update on software that I don't want. MS can't be trusted.

This completely ignores the non-gang members who were detained and not allowed to travel back to their home country (Canada, Germany). Of course that makes quite the world news headline so it's only natural for people to not want to tr

Maybe eventually AGI/LLMs/whatever will do the buying too. Maybe it will be one big feedback loop that all goes into the trash. As long as the end result has stocks rising in an automated fashion.

What's Trump's agenda? Kiss the ring and we'll waive your tariffs? In what form will Hollywood be asked to kiss the ring here? More pro maga content? Pro maga actors? Remove "woke" content?

It doesn't matter if it's controlled by the Chinese government or an oligarch. The damage is the same. Remove TikTok today and it's another form of social media tomorrow. Algorithms trained to increase addictions are the prob

Why don't you help brainstorm ideas instead of being dismissive? There is no right answer right now. Clearly in order for society to move forward in a healthy way, single individuals cannot amass wealth/power that is a millennia a

Specs peaked years ago. I don't want anything new phones have to offer, other than maybe a screen that isn't cracked, or a newer battery, etc. New Androids are a downgrade in functional hardware features and software customization

I replaced mine with sticks using hall effect sensors. The stick replacement process isn't easy, but also not too bad. When I first opened my joycon, a spring flew across the room and I had a hell of a time trying to find it.

We have a front row seat to see how it all played out in Germany a century ago. It gives us a better understanding of how people cowardly and pathetically turned on each other and their neighbors. Hopefully the end doesn't have the sam

I bet anything that any robots capable of performing any kind of service will be subscription based. It will also purposely be out of reach for anyone not wealthy. Society has to change before humanity has any further technological progress

Anything perceived as negative towards the current US administration has been getting flagged on HN recently. Maybe bots? It's some kind of obvious campaign.

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if the complaints I see against Firefox is a campaign to keep people on Chrome. But more likely it's just an excuse due to laziness. Either way these people can be dismissed outright.

I'm pretty sure manufacturers could, but that would increase their costs. The US did it for them for free. So we're either going to get insanely expensive flu vaccines or none at all.
