Not GP but I have had the same experience. I exclusively use 86Box for anything older than XP these days and it works fantastic. The ability to swap in whatever hardware you want is so much fun.

I agree. I've gone down the "make Linux look like Windows 95" path a couple times and while it's a fun yak shave, it's tough to get all the little changes and details right on one system, let alone your friend'

I use a combination of 1.1.1.1, 9.9.9.11, and OpenDNS over DNSSEC via Pihole. Not sure if it's a "good" strategy, though.

Thanks for the write up. I've been writing assembly lately, so as soon as I read your comment, I thought "hmm reminds me of section .text and section .data".

Agree. It's a terrible time to want a new Nvidia card for gaming or AI projects. I had a 4070 Ti Super in my cart for a while at a cool $700 on Amazon - now it's out of stock and secondhand I can find it for double that now. If on

I'm in agreement, but one thought that crossed my mind is how the population in China self-censors and I wonder if this is kind of like that. Rather than tailor the terminology to different environments, the person just chooses the &qu

I only have one Alexa and it won't bother me to remove it or replace it with another HomePod. I only use it to check the weather and occasionally to listen to random facts while I get ready in the morning. The fact that it has a digita

Definitely possible, but probably not easily. The "easiest" remastering I've seen simply upscales textures to 2K or 4K which provides an inexpensive way to resharpen old games without losing too much of their original look. F

Doesn't directly answer your question as I don't have a modern AMD card to test with, but even with an RTX 5080 Super + 9800X3D, I was still only getting about ~45-55 FPS at 4K60. I left the default settings of High and DLSS enabl

Agree! I've found everything in the OpenBSD base system to be easy to configure and well documented. The most difficult part might be acquiring a proper dial-up connection depending where one lives :P

Ryan Holiday is a good guy. I've followed his content for a while. Yes, he is marketing essentially "free" philosophy, but he does a good job adapting it to modern life.
