I'm in the same boat. I still think NERDTree, NERDCommenter, surround plugin, modelines and ability to use the same editor AND plugins in an SSH console is unbeatable combination. I can edit from my iPad with a bluetooth keyboard on my Lino

Doesn't google do around 3 billion searches/day? I was under the impression DuckDuckGo was a bigger player.

If you like jQuery and DOM use Backbone. AngularJS does a lot more than Backbone and Angular forces you to do things its way, meaning to avoid doing DOM manipulation outside of the framework, which isn't necessarily bad but requires more of

Are these as good as the Apple Cinema Display? Still haven't found anything with text as crisp my ACD (waiting for ACD retina). I've seen better for graphics but not text. Dell Ultrasharps for example are awesome for graphics and yes better

I'm surprised Python doesn't get more in return. Google, Pinterest, Disqus, ... all these guys have buku funding and use Python heavily. Why not show Python some love? Make the VM up to par with V8.

Would like a vote on how many ran the command: `sudo apt-get remove unity-lens-shopping` Within my circle, it was the first thing we googled for. I like Ubuntu. Canonical's best best is to go the way of Wikipedia and plead for pledges or se

I don't get it. Look at Jade, Stylus ... pythonesque isn't it. The same arguments that are made against CoffeeScript certainly can be argued for those sugar syntax alternatives of HTML and CSS respectively. Some will argue ad nauseum for no

100% agree. As much as I love CoffeeScript, the intellisense and type hinting is an invaluable aid to our team. TypeScript is the answer to team collaboration on large projects. There's no more guessing what the arguments are, whether an ar

I find it really hard to believe average crashes is 7.1/month on Windows 7. I run Windows 24/7. It's never crashed. I have an overclocked 4.5Ghz i5 and have many VMware sessions running. Maybe it's because I have quality hardware? Same expe

I'm going to have to try AngularJS. One of the things that put me off is how much it looks like ASP or JSP with the angular tags. Obviously it must be good as many people rave about it. We're using Backbone for a large project and yes we ha

One thing to keep in mind, this is not the Lua most people are familiar with. Yes the language is the same, but the module system is completely different to be more like Node's. I was disappointed when I first tried it but I understand the

MS had to do this. As many point out there already are alternatives and it's clear mobile devices are the future. MS made the tough choice. Will it hurt them in the near term? YUP. It's an unpopular, bold move but I think the correct one. K

Another one!? How hard is it to write a few lines of Sinatra, Express, Flask ... code, then deploy with Heroku? This is getting ridicilous. Are programmers becoming so dumb they can't create an API on their own?

"no purpose or value to it", really? For those who want to get a site up with good defaults, typography, and widgets, Bootstrap is a huge timesaver. If you have a better framework for those of us who "can't design" then point us in the righ

Agree with you. Didn't we learn from C++ that multiple inheritance is good in theory but in practice a horrible idea? Ruby already lets you be 'magical' in too many ways.

I didn't grok Javascript until I started using node.js. I soon realized jQuery is not Javascript, which is what many people think Javascript is just like many think Rails is Ruby. Just do it! Google things as you learn. Try writing a RESTfu

One of things us Linux heads liked the Ubuntu of old was how customizable it was. Ubuntu Tweak allows you to tweak the OS without having a PhD in Ubuntu or the command line.

The real meaning is lost in translation. It's one of three things for me. 1) The author feels Ubuntu is becoming the Microsoft of Linux and he will not continue to support it based on ethical reasons. 2) The cost of supporting and maintaini
