"have earned an annual total-fund net return of 9.6% since the plan's founding in 1990" 9.6% sounds pretty stellar to me. This is much better than many funds. Calpers' 30 year return is 7.7% annualized.

Is TCS/Infosys/etc taking a risk on hiring untrained/undertrained employees and putting in the effort to train them? Or did they get training through a college/university? If the latter, I’d say education is helping pull

This must be strictly an old school Valley problem. Up in the city, IDEs are standard. How would you even write Scala at Twitter without an IDE?

You say “prefix 20” but there was this weird trend in the early-mid 2000’s where Ruby evangelists really believed that TDD is just as good as static types - even better because you’re forced to test actual business logic! And they even mana

I wonder if Youtubers are mistaking consistency with quality? They don't realize that their consistent production is causing an increase in their quality (via practice/learning)

Ok, renters got $1500/mth for 2 years, maybe, if they decided not to pay rent (almost all my friends are renters and none of them stopped paying rent). Homeowners got $1500/mth for 30 years.
