Highly recommended piece by William Langewiesche on the same subject: The Turn At the very heart of winged flight lies the banked turn, a procedure that by now seems so routine and familiar that airline passengers appreciate nei

Agreed. I've never been interested in anything Blackberry before, but QNX with their WebOS-like UI and Qt native apps could be a very nice platform.

Yes, exactly that. And personally, I'd make it a global option, but a per-feed option -- either in addition or instead of the global option -- would be fine with me as well.

Just created an account and imported my Google Reader feeds. I like what I've tried so far, but it doesn't look like there's an option to sort feeds by oldest first. (Maybe no one else sorts this way, but it's the way that makes sense for h

Hopefully the Android browser continues to become more and more like Chrome, since development on the two is starting to converge: https://lists.webkit.org/pipermail/webkit-dev/2011-August/01... [edit: typo]

Maybe not Bada, but LiMo, and presumably now Tizen, is not just GTK. It also includes support for EFL (aka Enlightenment/E17), a project Samsung has been supporting for the past few years.* The EFL Webkit port is also progressing, also with

He wasn't even that successful. He only got to the point of "maybe we should spin off the PC division, or do something else with it" without actually announcing (or maybe even having!) a plan to do so.

Bada at first didn't interest me much, but I kept reading about Bada's above-average Webkit port (eg [1], [2]). Combined with Samsung's screen tech, it makes for some intriguing possibilities. [1]: http://www.sencha.com/blog/samsung-bada-t

Samsung's also been developing Enlightenment (previous discussion: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2495826 ).

I'm still waiting for Samsung to come out with something based on Enlightenment/E17, which they're (also) supporting.* * As previously discussed: http://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=2495826

I agree — I used to hate About.com, but I've found some of the subsites have some decent articles. I've found some decent recipe ideas on the Greek Food subsite, for example.

One thing that makes me prefer Readability (or in my case the Readability Redux Chrome extension[1]) is that it's able to stitch together multiple-page articles into one page. It makes reading articles on sites like The Register and Ars Tec
